Born and raised in Nashville, Shelby Foldy is a watercolor and mixed-media artist specializing in abstract landscapes. Shelby sees her art as an opportunity to bring peace into other’s homes. She creates peaceful scapes by valuing gentleness and openness in her compositions. With a background in home staging and interior photography, her focus remains on creating art that compliments spaces instead of competing for attention. Her love for watercolor started with Sumi ink which is a nod to her grandfather, who loved Japanese art and design.

“Everything I create has come from the overflow of a sacred moment in nature. Monochrome color palettes are my way of expressing how a single second of observing nature deeply can be enough inspiration to last for years. I will never forget the first moment I truly took in the power of a rushing Colorado river and the multitude of blue hues that would move throughout it - never creating the same shape twice. That’s what creativity is to me.”

Shelby is currently residing in Nashville with her husband Jared. For more information on Shelby Foldy and work, visit shelbyfoldy.com.
