Celia Turner

Now that her three children have left the nest, Celia Hamrick Turner is once again finding time to paint!

A creative soul with silver hair and pink lips, Celia is tapping back into one of her passions: ART.

Celia spent her early years in Eufaula, Alabama, a small, charming town known for its beautiful old homes and southern hospitality.
Front porches, rocking chairs, ferns, azaleas, dogwoods, pound cake, cheese straws, sweet tea, and friendly waves from passers by…this is the environment where much of Celia’s philosophy about life – and art- was formed.

* FIND BEAUTY IN WHAT SURROUNDS YOU AND ENJOY THE
SIMPLE THINGS OF LIFE.
* BE OPEN AND HOSPITABLE.
* AND, FILL YOUR SOUL WITH GOOD, SWEET THINGS.

Following high school, Celia moved up “north” to the big city of Nashville to pursue her education at Lipscomb University where she received a BA in English and a minor in art. She then attended Vanderbilt University graduating with a BSN and practiced nursing for several years.

It was during this time that painting became a creative outlet for Celia and she began to pour her heart into art. Over the years, she has continued to “create” in a variety of forms and settings.

Combining the simple with the more cosmopolitan, Celia’s artwork keeps evolving while staying true to its roots. Like the artist, Celia’s paintings are loose and free-spirited…a mix of vintage and a touch of modern. Creating art that is welcoming and happy is what she most enjoys.

Now residing in Brentwood, TN, with her husband, Gregg, Celia can often be found painting in a little white cottage behind their farmhouse…or on the tennis court trying to stay young and healthy.
