Bitsy Hughes

Bitsy Hughes is a native of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. She has lived with her family in Nashville, Tennessee for more than 40 years and has been showing her works since 1990.

Bitsy’s artwork is characterized by an eye for cityscapes, florals and abstracts. She uses acrylic on canvas and is liberal with a broad range of soft and vivid colors. Her work is informed by the beauty of color and composition of shapes in the world around her.

A lifelong learner, Bitsy’s innate desire to grow in her artistic expression is evidenced in the evolution of her style over the years. She draws inspiration from workshops and inspiring artists throughout history and around the country.
